I have known Dom for er! oh forty years.Kayos asked for items of interest regarding my son.He had his first bike (Yamaha TY 80 )at the age of nine it took him probably a day in a feild to master the clutch but very soon after that first day he was riding flat out and ,wait for it pulling wheelies.sorry lads its all my fault.

You should take a close up photo of you all now.
You will see the stresses and strains on your faces (well not yours Dom 'coz you just don't care!).
Then take one exactly one month after and every month after that and we will see the changes in you.
We should be able to tell when you have been in Africa for a while by the gaunt looks.

Nice to see that some of you are back at work keeping the British Empire going and good to hear that john is Home and on the mend. I'm keeping track of the Dakar to see if Dave had a last minute call up with a wild card entry. I'm off on the vfr tomorrow which will be nice. The weather here is 28 degrees and sunny which is nice but it will only make coming home harder. When I've got the photos from the bike trip I'll let you have them.

Glad you've arrived in Oz safe & sound.
Have you read the latest on the Globebusters website? - things are looking good for John J (he's wanting steak & beer!) There's an email address to contact John via Audrey.
Ted's shocked at the amount of traffic - after one vehicle per hundred miles! Also shopping is the typical manic Christmas time shopping, last few days before the ONE CLOSED DAY!!...why do people do it?
I was back at work on Tuesday, but didn't adjust properly till Wednesday (I had a lot of air miles in 2 weekends). Then it's our financial year end, which is very stressful & manic for our department.
So dear Dom, hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Prosperous New Year too.

Craig mate you'll be pleased to know that there are just as many minis over here than at home. It seems that most of them had the sense to buy the S version rather than kidding themselves that the Cooper was as quick. Have you had a burn up with Andy yet. If not be careful as he's as blind as a bat. A good tip is to just push him a little and he'll make a mistake. A bit like Martin, but Martin normally does it in somebody elses car.

Hello Martin. What peanut butter would you prefer? I hear the Kraft crunchy is a particularly good year at the moment with a slighly sweeter nut from the North facing slope. I've made it to Oz and I'm pleased to inform you that the weather is perfect with a tempreature of 30+ forcast for the next few days. I've just had fish and chips on the beach overlooking the bay in Melbourne.
The good news from Argentina is that John is now off the ventilator and is talking to his wife. He could be flying home on the 23rd if he continues to improve at the same rate.
When I know more I'll let you know.

Man, that sounds pretty scary. Hope he makes a full recovery, not what you need with Christmas round the corner. At least he made it to the end of the trip before being taken ill.

Hi Dom glad every thing is going great. At the moment I am in bed with a very bad stomach which I have had all week. The weather is very, very cold, and icy in the mornings. So Craig can carry being 'Billy no mates'. Nothing else to report, oh yes I still have the Aprilia. I have fitted Michelin Pilot Powers tyres and can now give Ian a run for his money in the wet!

Hi Dom, I think Craig's been dreaming of your CB500 again, what with powder on his bum at the ring and CB500's I am getting a bit worried especially as he still hasnt plucked up the courage to speak to the lassie upstairs says he likes it on his own in his pad. Only messing Craig !!
Helped move Mr Jones into his and Jo's new pad, very nice and move went good no drama's, still have to get the bike over there but that's no big deal, apart from that not much happening. Oh was traveling in Italy (Again) and was on the same plane as Jeremy McWilliams going to Bologna with his gear testing for somebody ??? Ducati maybe as no other manufacurer or team out there,
Anyway keep em coming.

Sunday Morning, clear blue skies, frost in the trees, & salt on the roads. First one to Milford, fuel up and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait.
As I stare balefully at the clear blue sky, I'm sure I heard the ghostly bark of a CB500 thrapping down the Haslemere road. Must be wishful thinking. At least your lot aren't put off by a bit of cold weather. Hurry back mate, I need someone to ride with !!!

We also found the temp dropped at the coast yesterday, as we cruised into Chichester marina for breakfast.(Note to self) must get heated grips for the blade. thanks for all your stories, we haven't forgot you yet, and still miss you at Milford on a Sunday morning. Life jogs along as usual but now with the a set of Ohlins ( best bike I have ever had ). Move to Petersfield on the 25 th of Nov which follows a small eye op on th 17 th,I should then be able to see the bends for miles ahead.
David is in South Africa for three weeks.
I done the paragliding thing off an Austrian mountain top last month.
Cost of living continues to rise so you will be in for a shock when you get back to blighty, I guess you will be able to ask for a rise at work after yet another year of loyal service.

Hi Mate, thought I would update you on the o'le bike show, usual crap etc but I have to say that Crescent Suzuki do a fine old tuned version of the GSKR1000 very nice and tasty all the bits you could wish for, the old fireblade might have to go when Santa next comes. Sat on a K1200s very comfortable but I don't think I am quite old enough for one of those yet. All of us are trying to wind Allen up about buying the wrong bike and that he should have got said K1200, but he's getting full Ohlins fitted on Thursday so that will make him feel better. The lads seem to think the M3 is to quick for them I don't know old age it just wants to make you go faster ????.

Hi Dom, Suzanne highly recommends the coca tea too, it kept altitude sickness away when she did her trek. Say hallo to Cusco and Macchu Piccu for her, she would love to be back out there. Just got back from Cambrian rally,2 days thrashing KTM through Welsh forests so much better with knobblies on. Everyone seems to agree our last trip to France in October was one of the best maybe because we could'nt lose Vince or put Silvo in a ditch.Nasca Lines???

Sorry you were sick when you flew out to see the Nasca Lines you are like me small planes do not get on well with our systems,its a good job you are doing this trip by bike and not by boat its even worse ican remember you on a greek ferry when you were sick and chain reaction set most of the other kids and some of the adults to the rails i managed to hold on to my lunch JUST!!!!

Hi dom the French trip was great, most of us swoped bikes,on the sunday of the trip.I swopped with Allen & Vince, the bmw was great.vinces Triumph was very simalar to my aprila,but gave off too much heat.Allen thought my Aprila was great so did Vince.Steve tryde Matts Blackbirde which i think he was very inpresed.Any way i won,t bore you any more.Hope you are well & keep up your reports.

Its good to hear from you and Heidi.I have just read "The Long Way Round" it seems that they had trouble staying on two wheels for any length of time.
You are now about to follow the wheel traks of Ted Simon and his trusty TRIUMPH TIGER 100, when you reach Peru you will need to change your hat for a BERET with a RED STAR as you will encounter the spirit of Che Guevara and his Norton La Poderosa II, but be carefull he is traveling in the opposite direction.

I now have 1200GS but may not have by the time you come home,in any event don't lose the plastic bracket for the visor bottle as I may need it.
Ten of us off to France on the 30 th Sept in the meantime perhaps we might enjoy the tranquillity of an autumn morning at Benson,the gentle lapping of the Thames, the differing greens of the English country,perhaps a lithe little blond bending down to tie up her half million pound cruiser. Yea it is a tough life here as well.

Glad to see you are having a good time. Had a problem getting your updates so have just caught up! Just returned from Egypt, which was great, diving and snorkeling in the Red Sea. No-one has done anything about the first aid course but I am determined to do it, even if I go on my own. Me an' RJ an' the kids was on a campout in the mountains and we hired us one those u'drive em army jeep cars that we had rented from a fella by the name of Kuboske for thirty bucks a day.... etc etc etc
Have a good trip mate, and keep us all posted - MAKE SURE YOU GET A PHOTO OF BLACK BEAR ROAD!
